New G705 slider phone from Sony Ericsson

Sony Ericsson has announced the launch of the G705 slider phone. It looks like a real cool phone on the outside. The G705 phone from Sony Ericsson comes with a 2.4" display screen and pre installed with Google search. The Google search allows you to search right from an idle screen either using WiFi or 3G. It looks like the phone also features an accelerometer as you can change from portrait to landscape mode by just tilting the phone.

Complete with 3.2 megapixel camera, 1GB memory card and video capabilities, you can upload your video or photo straight to the web for friends all over the world to see. The inbuilt aGPS combined with Google Maps for Mobile and Wayfinder navigation means that you will never have to ask for directions again. The Wayfinder is only a three months trial version.

It looks like Sony Ericsson has partnered up with Google not only for the search function, but also for direct upload of videos to YouTube. Apparently Sony Ericsson will be including this feature in selected upcoming models in the near future. As for now, the G705 is YouTube compatible. The G705 will be available for the American market in Q1 2009. Here are some of the specifications:

Looks like a nice little handset with all the gizmos. Sony Ericsson means it should be reliable too, just a shame it looks so bad...
