HTC Dream to take on Apple iPhone next week?

Yes its official. The first ever mobile phone running on Google's much anticipated Android platform is to be unveiled next week on September 23rd. In fact it has been reported that HTC is so confident with this new platform that it's sales forecasts are much higher than analysts' forecasts - about 700,000 units a year. It is to be seen if the HTC Dream has enough juice to take on the mighty Apple iPhone 3G.

Pretty much most of the wireless carriers working with the Android phone have announced delays in their schedule but T-Mobile seems to be on track. The HTC Dream has been touted as the phone to take on Apple's iPhone and RIM's Blackberry. Game on!

Is it just me or is this the ugliest mobile device ever manufactured? It looks like something from the 80s. No competition for the iPhone...
