Sharp AQUOS DX LCD TV with built in Blu Ray Player

Sharp has definitely taken their lineup of LCD TV's one step further with this impressive Sharp AQUOS LCD HDTV with built in Blu Ray player. Although Mitsubishi and Funai have been talking about this for some time, it definitely looks like Sharp has won the race. Sharp recently announced that they will be launching the Sharp AQUOS LCD HDTV on Nov 20th which comes with a built in Blu Ray player.

The world's first LCD TV with built in Blu Ray player comes in 16 different models. Not only does the TV boast Blu Ray player capability but also Blu Ray recorder capability as well. A 2 layer Blu Ray DVD is capable of recording up to 21 hours of video footage. The models to be offered come in sizes of 26- (LC-26DX1), 32- (LC-32DX1), 37- (LC-37DX1), 42- (LC-42DX1), 46- (LC-46DX1) and 52-inch (LC-52DX1) sizes, and will come equipped with an integrated HDTV tuner and bottom-mounted speaker.

What's the price? Well for now the price has been set around ¥200,000 ($1,963) to ¥500,000 ($4,909) depending on the size of the TV. Except the 26 inch and 32 inch models, all the other models are to be offered with full HD capability. Nice addition to the living room I must say - only if the price of Blu Ray DVDs go down.
