Do you want an iPhone Nano for Christmas?

iPhone Nano patent pictureIts the middle of August and I'm thinking of Christmas... What's wrong with me? Oh yeah now I remember - its another iPhone news. This time Apple intends to outdo itself with the iPhone Nano. Speculation has been rife that this product will hit the shelves by Christmas. But not many details regarding the specs have been revealed. Will this be the next big thing? With an economic downturn around the corner, this might just be THE savior for the mobile phone industry. More details follow.

According to the Daily Mail UK, Apple is gearing up to launch the iPhone Nano in time for Christmas. According to Simon Fluendy who is the author of the report...

The product will be launched in the UK at up to £150 for pay-as-you-go customers by O2, the mobile phone group owned by Spain's Telefonica. 'This will be a big one,' said an industry source.

There has been a lot of speculation ever since Apple filed its patent in 2007. Obviously Apple had thought about this even before launching the first iPhone. Now that's what I call innovation. It seems that there will be no touchscreens for this device and will utilize the ever faithful click-wheel in this gadget. This could be the cheap and simple alternative to the iPhone 3G - although the specs might be very different. I doubt it will be a 3G phone, rather just supporting EDGE and GPRS, thereby perfectly complementing the elder sibling.

Mobile phone manufacturers, you better take note. While you were preparing to load your rifle, Apple just loaded its bazooka!!! Game on!!!
